What is Cloud Poker Timer?

Cloud Poker Timer (CPT) is an easy-to-use Web-based poker timer for Texas Hold’em style tournaments with one very special feature: it synchronizes the timer across as many computers as you like. This is super handy when you’ve got a tournament going with more than one table and those tables are in different rooms. After logging in and starting the timer on one computer, simply login with the same ID on any other computer and the synchronized timer will also display there. If you pause or make changes to the timer on one computer, it syncs those changes instantly to the other computers.

If you just need the timer one screen, CPT is great because it’s so simple to use.

Key features:

  • Timer is synchronized across multiple computers
  • Pausing or changing levels synchronizes across multiple computers
  • Easy to use – choose a blind schedule, click start, DONE!
  • 10 built-in blinds schedules included
  • Create your own custom blind schedules (from scratch or clone and modify)
  • Pause by clicking the screen or pressing the spacebar
  • Supports next, previous and restart level
  • Timer persists even if your computer gets interrupted – just log back in and the correct time will be displayed
  • Multiple themes to choose from
  • No software to install – just login at CloudPokerTimer.com and start your timer
  • Oh, and if that’s not enough, it’s FREE!

Cheapest Computer for Running CPT

So you want to run Cloud Poker Timer in a second room but don’t have an extra computer lying around? The cheapest and easiest option for running CPT is an ASUS Chromebit. It’s a computer on a stick that plugs into the HDMI port of any monitor or TV you have and sells for under US$90 on Amazon. It includes the Chrome browser and is ideal for accessing the CPT site. (Note: you’ll need to disable the screen saver function, so your timer doesn’t disappear. Easy instructions are here for disabling the screensaver.) If you get a Chromebit, also grab an inexpensive wireless keyboard with trackpad so you can control the browser from wherever you happen to be sitting. We’re big fans of the Logitech K400 Plus which sells for US$25 on Amazon.
